Daniel, it's been a quiet piece of news, though there is a small set of people trying to point it out. The initial argument was that it had to do with the high rate of binge drinking. Part of the issue is that some want to make this seem like it is all a "personal choice" issue. Essentially pushing a narrative that people's bad choices lead to cancer. While it could be true that some choices can increase the likelihood of some cancers, we cannot ignore that some of the issue is environmental. What do we do in this state that enhances the risk? What are the communal actions that we should consider changing? I happen to think one of the things we need to do is start using alternatives to pesticides. And... if binge drinking is, in fact, once of the causes - what is making binge drinking so attractive to people in Iowa that they'll do it so much as to increase their risk of cancer?

I agree. People drink everywhere. It's not like Iowa is no. 1 in binge drinking, is it?
